Booking Conditions

Bookings from March 2020 onwards: We’ve updated our booking conditions to give you more flexibility and peace of mind to start planning your next life-changing adventure.

For Private Tours

We’ve eliminated non-refundable deposits

Once you’re ready to confirm your trip, we’ll ask you for USD$500 ber booking (if you’re traveling internationally) or 1,000RMB per person (if you’re traveling from within China) as a deposit so that we can start securing you the best guides and hotel rooms. This will go towards your trip costs and will be taken off your final balance amount. This deposit is refundable for any reason until 30 days prior to your departure*.

*If there are any non-refundable bookings we need to make on your behalf, we’ll tell you upfront.

Your balance payment is due 30 days before you travel

Your balance payment will be due 30 days prior to your departure. If travel restrictions stop you from traveling after this time, we’ll do our best to recover any costs. If you decide to cancel for other reasons after this time, the following cancellation policy applies:

  • Between 20 – 30 days prior to trip departure – 50% of total tour price will be forfeited
  • Less than 20 days prior to trip departure – no refund
  • After trip departure – no refund
If you need to postpone, we’ll guarantee the same prices

If you need to postpone your journey after paying the deposit, we’ll aim to maintain the same prices for travel dates up to a year after.* If you decide you want to postpone, but don’t know until when, that’s okay too. We’ll send you 100% of your balance as a credit voucher.

*Price freezes on quotations are subject to availability and travel season. For example, if your original booking is during a shoulder season, you’ll need to postpone to another shoulder season for us to be able to secure you the same prices.

For Group and Expert-Led Tours

We’ve eliminated non-refundable deposits

Our group and expert-led journeys are extremely popular so we’ll ask you for a USD$500 per person deposit to secure your spot. This will go towards your trip costs and will be taken off your final balance amount. This deposit is refundable for any reason up to 12 weeks before the travel date.

Your balance payment is due 30 days before you travel

Your balance payment will be due 30 days prior to your departure. If travel restrictions stop you from traveling after this time, we’ll do our best to recover any costs. If you decide to cancel for other reasons after this time, the following cancellation policy applies:

  • Less than 30 days prior to trip departure – no refund
  • After trip departure – no refund
If you need to postpone, we’ll guarantee the same prices

If you need to postpone your journey after paying the deposit, we’ll maintain the same prices for travel dates up to a year after. That means, if prices rise in the subsequent period before you travel, we’ll make up the difference. If you decide you want to postpone, but don’t know until when, that’s okay too. We’ll send you 100% of your balance as a credit voucher.
